Frequently Asked Questions

Our Interpreters and translators speak, read, and write in at least two languages fluently, converting information from one language into another language. Interpreters deal with oral communication, and translators work with written communication.
There are several common modes of interpreting:
(1) Simultaneous- speak or sign at the same time someone is speaking or signing,
(2) Consecutive interpreting begins only after the speaker has said or signed a group of words or sentences. Note taking is an essential part of consecutive interpreting.
(3) Sight Translation: When the interpreting is verbally translating a written document ad-hoc.
(4) Whispered. Interpreters in this mode sit very close to the listeners and provide a simultaneous interpretation in a quiet voice.
We service over 40 languages! Our interpreters and translator are available and ready to assist you in several languages.
The charge for the call begins as soon as the telephone interpreter is connected to the line and communication is established.
The time block from the start time of the event indicated when the interpreter assignment booking is made or the actual starting time, whichever is earlier, and until the actual work time is finished or until the booked finish time, whichever is later, including brief breaks. However, designated lunch or dinner breaks are not included. Each assignment is billable for a minimum of an appearance fee equivalent to two hours at the agency’s base rate for the assignment. Any time over two hours is billed at the same rate in half hour increments.
For assignments of six or more hours in duration, the interpreter must take at least one unpaid meal break of at least thirty minutes. If this is not possible, then the billing should reflect the actual time worked.
